LEAN 4.0 Workshop

On March 5, 2024, the Industrial Engineering department of Swiss German University collaborated with PT Andal Wahana Sinergi (AWASIN) and the Indonesian Digital Industry Center 4.0 (PIDI 4.0) to organize a Lean 4.0 workshop. This activity was held with the sponsorship of SGU’s community service grant, PT Andal Wahana Sinergi and the Indonesian Digital Industry Center PIDI 4.0. The event was attended by around 90 participants from more than 30 leading companies, including NutriFood, LG Electronics, and PT Komatsu Indonesia. The event began with an inauguration speech by Mr. Saiful Bahri, director of the PIDI 4.0 Building, followed by two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremonies, an exhibition of industry 4.0 technologies, and a series of workshops covering technology, economics, and data analysis.

The workshop session conducted by the faculty members of Industrial Engineering at Swiss German University commenced with an introduction to the Lean 4.0 concept by Dr. Tanika D Sofianti, MT. Subsequently, Ir. Triarti Saraswati, M.Eng elaborated on “Economic Analysis for Investment in New Technology.” Dr. Eng. Aditya T Pratama then discussed “Management of Quality and Reliability,” followed by Dr. Tanika D Sofianti, MT, presenting on “Data Analysis for Optimization.” The event concluded with a technology demonstration by PT AWASIN, led by Ibu Lia. During this segment, participants had the opportunity to witness demonstrations of Predictive Maintenance tools and Quality Inspection utilizing Computer Vision technology.

Participants at the event also had the opportunity to witness the prevailing trend in industrial equipment, including innovations like Meta Quest 3, a hardware integrating virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR), and the Dobot Robot Studio showcased by the laboratory affiliated with SGU’s Industrial Engineering department. These technologies demonstrated significant potential across various industrial sectors, encompassing activities such as facility design and analysis, motion studies, as well as product design and development.
