SGU Partners with Tangerang Regency to Advance Education and Fight Poverty through Beasiswa Tangerang Gemilang

Tangerang,  24 April 2025 Swiss German University (SGU) has officially signed a partnership with the Tangerang Regency Government to support the Beasiswa Tangerang Gemilang program, a regional scholarship initiative designed to increase access to quality higher education and reduce poverty across Tangerang Regency.

The ceremonial signing took place on April 24, 2025, at Hotel Yasmin, Karawaci, Tangerang. The event was attended by the Regent of Tangerang, Mr. Maesyal Rasyid, along with the Rector of Swiss German University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, and the Vice Rector II for Non-Academic Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Ir. James Purnama, M.Sc. The collaboration marks SGU’s ongoing commitment to contributing to local community development through education.

Beasiswa Tangerang Gemilang is a strategic program initiated by the Tangerang Regency Government to provide outstanding students from underprivileged backgrounds with the opportunity to pursue higher education at reputable institutions. Through this partnership, selected students will receive full scholarships to study at Swiss German University, where they will be equipped with the academic and practical skills needed to thrive in the professional world.

In addition to SGU, the program also involves three other respected universities: IPB University, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, and Al-Azhar University Kairo. Together, these institutions are joining forces with the local government to create pathways for educational success and long-term social impact.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision to empower the younger generation and foster sustainable development in Tangerang Regency through inclusive, high-quality education.
