Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry Workshop

Awareness of the Implementation of Industrial Technology 4.0, the Swiss German University Industrial Engineering Program Holds a Workshop on Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry
Tangerang, 16 March 2023 – With the rapid development of the industrial world marked by the start of the Industry 4.0 era, “Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry”, has become one of the most discussed topics to improve industrial performance in Indonesia. In order to increase the effectiveness of the implementation and benefits of Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry, the Swiss German University Industrial Engineering Study Program, collaborating with the management of PIDI 4.0, PT. Andal Wahana Sinergi (AWASIN) and Techsource Systems held a workshop “Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry” on Wednesday and Thursday, March 15-16 2023. The event was held at the Indonesia Digital Industry Center Building 4.0 (PIDI4.0) which is a facility belonging to the Ministry of Industry Indonesia, on Jl. Raya Kby Lama, No. 41, Permata Hijau, West Jakarta.

The “Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry” workshop was opened with remarks from Mr. Muhammad Mukhlis Afriyanto, ST., ME., MSE, Account Representative from PIDI 4.0. This event was attended by around 30 practitioners from various leading industries such as Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, Suzuki Indomobil Motor, PT. Dian Swastatika Sentosa, PT. Mattel Indonesia, Panarub Indonesia (Adidas), PT Astra Otoparts Tbk WINTEQ Division, YKK API, Xquisite AI, Telkom Satellite Indonesia (Telkomsat), Infinitigroup and others.

There were 10 speakers in this activity, namely Dr. Eng. Aditya T Pratama, Ir. Triarti Saraswati, M.Eng, Ivan Kurniawan MT, MBA, and Dr. Tanika D Sofianti from Industrial Engineering – Swiss German University, also Mr Bambang Nugroho and Ms Rasyiqah Annani from Techsource Systems, as well as Martin Kurnadi from PT AWASIN, Mr Clyde Lee & Mr Kevin PF Sheu from MOXA & Mr Marchellino I. Kwasasi from Patlite.

The first session was started by Dr. Tanika D Sofianti from SGU Industrial Engineering presented material entitled “Artificial Intelligence for System Optimization”. This session discusses the state of the art of system optimization and the latest technology for system optimization using artificial intelligence.

Dr. Aditya T Pratama as the second speaker from SGU discussed how to implement artificial intelligence for quality assurance of a product and equipment. The third speaker from SGU was Ivan Kurniawan, MT, MBA who explained how artificial intelligence is implemented for a logistics and supply chain system which was then continued by Ir. Triarti Saraswati who explained how the development of Artificial Intelligence and what jobs will be replaced by Artificial Intelligence and what jobs will still be mastered by human workers.

In the Techsource system session, it was held as a hands-on session on Artificial Intelligence using MATLAB for implementation in Industry which was directed by Ms. Rasyiqah and Mr. Bambang from TechSource. In this session, the use of a computational application for Applied Artificial Intelligence was explained and demonstrated by all workshop participants. This session provides an opportunity for workshop participants to try using MATLAB for Applied Artificial Intelligence using a special license given to workshop participants.

The “Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry” workshop was also attended by speakers from industry practitioners, namely Mr. Martin Kurnadi from PT AWASIN, Mr. Clyde Lee & Mr. Kevin PF Sheu from MOXA & Mr. Marchellino I. Kwasasi from Patlite. This session discusses the use of Artificial Intelligence in Industry, and the benefits obtained both from an economic and operational point of view where Applied Artificial Intelligence can improve the performance of equipment in carrying out its duties. This session also demonstrated several instruments and equipment that had been developed by PT Awasin, Moxa and Patlite in several industrial facilities equipped with Artificial Intelligence technology.

Swiss German University Industrial Engineering (SGU) together with PT. Andal Wahana Sinergi (AWASIN), Moxa, Patlite and Techsource Systems organized this activity as part of a community service activity, which aims to increase the awareness of the industrial community regarding the benefits of Artificial Intelligence in Industry. In addition, this workshop also provides ways to implement Artificial Intelligence properly so that it can achieve the main goal of implementing an Artificial Intelligence technology.

With this workshop, it is hoped that the collaboration between SGU Industrial Engineering and PT Awasin, Moxa, Patlite and Techsource System with industry practitioners, PIDI 4 and the Indonesian Ministry of Industry as part of “government” can continue to develop and contribute to advancing digital technology innovation in Indonesia, especially with the implementation of the Industry 4.0 program in Indonesia, namely “Making Indonesia 4.0” so that it can strengthen the nation’s competitiveness.

The “Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry” workshop was able to run successfully thanks to the full support of various parties such as PT AWASIN, Moxa, Patlite and Techsource Systems, as well as the Center for Digital Industry 4.0 (PIDI4.0). Apart from that, the lecturers and students of SGU Industrial Engineering who were the speakers and organizing committees and the involvement of the workshop participants also played an important role in the success of this event.
