Tangerang: Swiss Germany University (SGU) won an award from the Tangerang Regency Government, Banten. SGU received this award because it is considered to have played an active role in supporting the growth of new industrial entrepreneurs with global competitiveness.
One of the strategic steps is to encourage the transformation of micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) industry players. This is done so that MSME players can take advantage of the latest technology so they can create innovations.
To achieve this goal, SGU as an educational institution contributes to Business & Technology Incubator (IBT) activities to build a Digital Marketing Center through the Kedaireka program with the full support of the Tangerang District Industry & Trade Office.
“Thank you Mr. Regent (Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar), we can be part of this pentahelix working together to advance MSMEs,” said SGU Chancellor Dr. err. nat Filiana Santoso in her testimony after receiving an award from Regent A Zaki Iskandar at Ciputra Mall, Tangerang, Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
Filiana admitted that the pandemic period actually brought enthusiasm, empathy, and real action in advancing MSMEs. SGU was also moved to encourage MSMEs to upgrade through the Digital Marketing Center (DMC) Business & Technology Incubation for MSME players. SGU provides training and assistance including digital marketing training, business management assistance, to assistance with BPOM administration.
Then, the construction of joint facilities such as the provision of a multi-purpose gas drying oven machine, the procurement of food preservative machines, the Creative House (bag/overlock/shoe sewing machines, graphic design computers, t-shirt printers, mug printers), Teaching Factory (Laboratory Model for BPOM standards, HACCP production of packaged foods).
SGU also helps increase MSME/IKM sales by facilitating the holding of the Tangerang UMKM exhibition, creating the Tangerang Gemilang UMKM gallery in Korea, establishing the Tangerang SMILE producer cooperative (becoming a distributor of Tangerang Regency MSME products), business matching with overseas buyers, as well as domestic corporate buyers. the country, as well as the Bintang Gemilang Online Bazaar on the 389th Anniversary.
“Through this training, MSME players are expected to be more confident in entering the world of e-marketing with all its supporting tools. I hope MSME players in Tangerang Regency can continue to innovate so that they have high competitiveness not only at the national level but also in the global market. ,” said Filiana.
On this occasion, Filiana promoted a product in collaboration with the Tangerang Regency Government and SGU, namely Bandeng Deui sausage made from processed milkfish satay.
“I’ve tried it. It’s delicious. So ladies and gentlemen, please try the Bandeng Deui sausage,” said Filiana promoting.
Regent A Zaki Iskandar and his wife, Tri Hesti Yulianti, seemed to be visiting the SGU stand from the 28 booths that filled the Tangerang Expo 2022 Regency, Ciputra Mall. Both of them tasted Milkfish Deui, which is a new product for this Tangerang specialty.
Regent Zaki hopes that Pentahelix’s collaboration in advancing MSMEs with academics will continue. Especially in the face of the threat of a global recession which is predicted to occur in 2023.
“Hopefully, the Tangerang Expo event this time can see the potential of MSMEs and our home production from a variety of products, from the guidance of the MSME Office and the Industry and Trade Office, to continue to improve product quality and later also quantity. Once there is massive production, consistency of quality and quantity is very important,” said Zaki.
Apart from SGU, the Tangerang Expo 2022 Regency was enlivened by stands from the Tangerang Regency Fisheries Service, Bappenda, Agriculture and Food Security Service, Ornamental Fish Forum, Arts Council, Swiss German University, Tangerang Muhammadiyah University, OJK, Health Service, DPMPTS, Dukcapil, and Cooperatives Office and Micro Enterprises.
