Dr. Tanika D. Sofianti Shares Insights on Digital Transformation in Manufacturing at The Digital Nations Summit 2024

Dr. Tanika D. Sofianti, S.T., M.T., feels honored to participate as a speaker at The Digital Nations Summit 2024, organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information (KOMINFO) and GSMA on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta. This event has become an important platform for leaders and experts from various industries to share insights on digital transformation.

As a panelist in the session titled “Opportunities and Challenges for Digital Transformation in Manufacturing,” Dr. Tanika joined a number of prominent speakers. This panel is led by Dr. Virdiansyah Permana, Head of Technology at the Indonesian Industrial Digital Transformation Council (WANTRII), who is guiding the discussion on the critical needs and opportunities for digital transformation in the manufacturing sector.

During the session, the panelists discussed important topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), the industrial Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, and virtual reality (VR), all of which play a vital role in reshaping manufacturing processes in the era of Industry 4.0. This discussion also highlights how organizations, including universities, respond to the accelerated adoption of digital technology and its impact on the skills and competencies of the workforce.

Dr. Tanika stated, “I take this opportunity to provide more exposure to the Industrial Engineering – Smart Industry study program, which responds to the workforce needs in the Industry 4.0 Era. We continue to enhance the curriculum, strengthen faculty competencies, involve industry practitioners to teach students, and develop new teaching tools related to sensors, IoT, data analytics, as well as immersive technologies like VR/AR/Mixed Reality.”

The Digital Nations Summit 2024 serves as a valuable platform to discuss Indonesia’s digital ambitions and the crucial role of technology in realizing those goals. This event features a keynote speech, panel discussions, and special sessions focusing on the future of digital transformation in Indonesia, particularly in the manufacturing and mining sectors.
