On July 23, 2024, ARCS SGU held an activity in the form of a Workshop and Journal Management Clinic with the theme “Scientific Journal Management Using OJS Towards Accredited Journals”. This activity took place online through the Zoom platform, with the aim of improving the quality of scientific journal management in Indonesia.
This workshop presented Asep Erlan Maulana, S.Kom., M.Kom., who is the Managing Editor of UIN Jakarta Informatics Engineering Journal (accredited Sinta 2) and Editor in Chief of Pamulang University Informatics Journal (JIUP) (accredited Sinta 4). He shared his knowledge and experience in managing journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS) to achieve accredited status.
This workshop was limited to only 3 journals from 3 universities in order to be more intensive and focused. The universities that participated in this activity were: YPIB Majalengka University, Multimedia Nusantara University, Cendekia Abditama University.
The purpose of this workshop is to provide practical guidance on the management of scientific journals, starting from setting up the OJS system, submission process, review, to article publication. Participants are expected to improve the quality of their journal management so that they can achieve higher accreditation.
This workshop also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss directly with Asep Erlan Maulana about challenges and solutions in managing scientific journals. Hopefully, through this activity, scientific journals from participating universities can improve their quality and credibility in the national arena.
With this Workshop and Journal Management Clinic, it is hoped that more scientific journals in Indonesia will be accredited and able to contribute significantly to the development of science and technology. This activity also shows the joint commitment of various educational institutions in improving the standards of scientific journal management in Indonesia.
